Does anyone know of or have a great SCI doctor in the bay area/valley area? I need a second opinion on my osteoarthrtis. PT says its from the injury & the new doctor I seen doesn't know much about it. (Just changed insurance )I'm only 24 & no one in my family has it. Figured second opinion would be best. Hope this is posted in the right area.

You really don't need to see a SCI physician for management of osteoarthritis, but I am just wondering on what basis the diagnosis was made.
Regardless, you should look for someone who is at the SCI Center at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. Stanford would be another alternative since many of their physicians may also consult at the SCI Center at the Palo Alto VA.

All they did was send me a letter saying that the xray showed mild-moderate djd, and when i went for my checkup with the physiatrist she stated she didnt know much about it. So I have no idea other than my own research, what im dealing with as far as walking on it, working out, pain, etc... I was told a few years ago when i had a hip xray with my old doc that the left hip was subluxed b/c of the lack of muscles. I wanted to get both xrays looked at by someone more "up to date" in the SCI world.
