I have a Toshiba Laptop computer and the battery seems to be going. By the time I purchase and have a new battery installed I have spent as much as buying a new computer. I have noticed that batteries are available for about half the Toshiba price on the internet. My question is, how difficult is it to install one of these batteries and is there a website that explains the process in some detail?

Don't buy from eBay... that's where refurbished and recalled batteries end up. Make sure you whomever you buy from that they have a phone number on their website. I got one for my toshiba satellite 1200 from http://www.replacementpower.com/Laptop-Battery/Toshiba-Satellite/LPBTTOSA.html
