I'm just tossing this question out there to possibly others who have amounted a fair amount of articles from plain curiosity, college, grad school etc. Has anyone had any positive experience with programs that help organize references. I've been using this program called Zotero- a free web app for Firefox -- . http://www.zotero.org/ Has anyone else tried this program?

It is helpful to organize web-based research, although when I start downloading article after article from Ebsco, Pub-Med and other scholarly research databases I get into a zone of PDF chaos.

Any thoughts?

I've had good experiences with EverNote (http://evernote.com/) as an online app and Tomboy Notes (http://projects.gnome.org/tomboy/download.html) locally. (Add Tomfox (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/8276) for Firefox integration.)

i just started using evernote, and was wondering how ms one note compares?
i haven't really put evernote to th test yet, it did seem to fail me a couple times when i was trying to use it to search the first couple times, but it could have been operator error.
i am also trying to get more stuff up in the cloud. since i am always on different n computers, so syncing is getting out of hand

Thanks Steven. I'll give Evernote a go around.

Another vote for Evernote! I have it installed on both my iMac and MacBook Pro and I like that I can easily sync all of my notes and have them when I'm on the road. It's a very versatile program, and you can use it free with a good deal of storage or pay for a lot more storage.
