Urologists

I live in the San Francisco Bay area and Sacramento area which is Northern California. I'm looking to find a doctor (Urologists) that could perform urethral sphincterectomy because I am having complications due to indwelling catheter.

The "guru" of sphincterotomies, Inder Perkash, MD just recently retired from Stanford and the VA in Palo Alto. You could call there to see if he is seeing private patients or if they could recommend a local urologist that he trained.

I did contact Dr.perkash and it Has been difficult trying to contact him and find someone that could perform the procedure because he has retired. I've been getting a lot of runaround for the last six months. I would just like to know if anyone else does this procedure in Northern California. For anyone that has trained under Dr. per Kash

Our SCI urologist doesn't do sphincterotomies any more- maybe that is the difficulty with finding aother doctor. he does the bladder aug or different procedures. He doesn't like to revise previous sphinterotomies either
