We enjoyed it. Based on an interesting idea. They couldn't resist putting in a Bollywood dance, but it's in the credits at the end.

Excellent movie, but some of the violence surprised me because it was never part of any review I had read. Overall it is a "feel good" film, but has some some pretty graphic images of cruelty.

Although disturbing it was still a good flick. As you are watching the movie, imagine this (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/04/19/slumdog-millionaire-star-_n_188662.html).

Loved it. Was staggered by aerial shots of slums that went on forever, like the ocean. It is a feel-good movie, given the subject matter that wasn't easy to do. I thought it was such a creative concept, using a game show.
And myself, I loved the Bollywood video at the end as well!
It's a rare movie that makes me want to applaud in the theater. This one did.

Serious film, yet bittersweet. The main character is such a hottie!

I heard a lot of hype about it and finally saw it last weekend. It's Hollywood's conceptualization of the Indian "slum" life and culture. It's somewhat predictable and totally unrealistic at times, but if you want to escape reality for a little while, it's your typical love story, with a weak attempt at understanding Bollywood cinema. I will say, however, that I like that it's not linear storytelling.
I'm not the type to like films wrapped up in a nice, little bow, however and I'm probably going to be a harsher critic as I grew up being exposed to Bollywood cinema and have travelled to these parts of India and seen what the slum life really is like.
im looking forward to seeing it.

Like Kiran said, it's a predictable feel good story... too formulaic to be great. Kinda weird coming from the guy who made Trainspotting and Shallow Grave, but I guess Oscar came calling. My favourite part was the dance at the end credits.

It does follow the formula-Boy meets girl, boy loses girl, crisis or 10, crisis resolution, boy gets girl in the end. For me that's ok, I'm a fan of chick flicks and happy endings anyway. I feel like the story itself, the way the formula was set up, was so creative, though! That same formula has been set on trains, planes, automobiles, city, country, outer space...but I really liked this one.
Anyway, I get tired of emo endings. :p Life is twisty, wistful and emo enough, so I felt like I got my 6 bucks worth of feel-good out of this movie LOL.
And I really felt great when I left the theater, rejuvenated. The only part that rang false to me was the big crisis, that problem was solved a bit neatly and easily. I won't say what it was, don't want to spoil it.
