I am looking to get a second opinion about my urology tests I had done late last year. At that time, the urologist I had said that I did not need to cath and that pushing on my bladder with my fists serves the purpose just fine. My tests showed that I retained about 6 ounces (did not empty the bladder). About a month ago I was talking to some people and found out that someone who was doing the exact same thing I am doing now died because of the damage his bladder incurred as a result from not emptying completely. After hearing that, that scared me enough to want to get a second opinion. Therefore, I am looking for any recommendations for an SCI urologist in Connecticut that I can go to.

Just a little bit of background on me...I have a degenerative spinal and brain disease (Primary Lateral Sclerosis) with a history of UTIs and kidney stones. I am on a schedule of every 4 hours, and as said above, I void by pushing my fists into my bladder.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Um, no. If you find one, pass me the name. So far the ones I have found don;t even think regular urodynamics are necessary. :(

You can try Dr. Harris Foster at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
