Thank you for the responses. It will be a good place to start. I will also as my Dr., Dr. Rodriguez at Ann Arbor, as to who she would suggest , or if she is aware of anyone in TN.

Good luck. There are a few members on here that are somewhat close to you but I hear they have had trouble with doctors also.

I spent November and December of 2007 in Quillen Rehab in Johnson City. There are two physiatrists at Quillen, but I'm quite sure they are inpatient only.
I've been going to Dr. Mark McQuain (http://www.wataugaortho.com/Doctor-McQuain.html)at Watauga Orthopaedics (http://www.wataugaortho.com/index.html)since early 2008. I'm pleased with him, although I don't think he has many (if any) other patients with SCI. He never seems to be in a hurry and will spend time with me until he has answered every question on my list. During my first visit he spent two hours with me, while stepping out briefly to work through his other patients. He seems very interested in SCI and is truly a caring individual.
A benefit for using Dr. McQauin as my physiatrist is that my orthopaedic surgeon is in the same practice. Dr. Clint Hill (http://www.wataugaortho.com/Doctor-Hill.html)performed my spinal surgery on the day of my motorcycle accident and I feel blessed that he was on call that weekend. The two make a great team and consult with each other about my treatment.
Let me know if you need more information or have any specific questions.

Having difficulty finding a physiatrist. Mcqauin says he doesnt think he is qualified enough to take my case, and several of the others in the area are not taking patients. Nearest that I am looking now is Knocksville area, and some dont want to accept the out of state workers compensation. Man I didnt think it was going to be this difficult to find a doctor. In-turn this is holding up all my other doctor appointments because I need the referrals from this doctor. Argh!
