I have posted this before, but have a update, Methynaltrexone has been approved by injection and hopefully approved in pill form sometime in 09 according to my souces here in Chicago where the study began at the Univ. of Chicago. My body wants a lot of pain relief, but the gastric and constipation problems make this very difficult at least for me to deal with.
After 17 years of sci and trying over the counter and natural products to alleviate these problems i am the first on the list here in chicago to try this drug when and if it is approved by the FDA.
Type in Methynaltexone in any seach engine and you can see for yourself

That is interesting, thanks for sharing, znop.
Do you think it something one could take long term?

I am hoping that it would help for long term. As until there are therapies to help sovle the complications of sci I will need narcotics for a long time. My sci DR. Dr. David Chen of the rehabilitation institute of chicago assures me that when this is approved, sci's should be able to use this drug. As with any drug long term, thje jury is still out as they say.....

All I know is I function better when I get enough sleep and when I not bothered by bowel and bladder problems lol. A curse for some of us Sci's
