A 66,000-square-foot facility for treating spinal cord injuries will be developed at the Zablocki Veterans Affairs Medical Center by a Milwaukee general contractor.
CT3 Construction Co. has been awarded a $26.9 million contract by the Department of Veterans Affairs for design and construction of the facility. It will replace the current unit, which was originally designed for general medicine and has limited space. Spinal cord patients require more space than other patients.
Construction of the facility, which will take around two years, could begin this spring, said Jim Hubbell, vice president of CT3 Construction. The firm focuses on providing construction services for federal government projects.
