google warning?

Can anyone tell me what a malware warning is?
Recently whenever I google something, the following website results have a warning that 'this site may harm your computer' - almost the whole list has the warning, not just an occasional site. I don't recall ever seeing this before when googling. What does it mean?

Apparently it was a problem at Google's end which has now been sorted.

If Google's problem was caused by a hacker then panic's probably an appropriate reaction.

If the ****** can crack Google then nothings safe!
