I read up on what they are but I really don't understand it. But what are they good for? When I looked it up it had contiguous file fix and wonder what that is for.
When I defrag most all I have on it is contiguous files so I am just wondering about them.

Contiguous files are those that are no longer fragmented. You get contiguous files after you defrag your hard drive. Your hard drive will be able to find files faster when they are contiguous. Google "Contiguous files" and you'll see a bunch of explanations.
