Fentynal 75 patches TO Oxycontin 10mg x 2 ....

hi all

please help

my doctor has just changed my meds (at my request) from Fentyal 75 m/hr patches (lasting 3 days) to Oxycontin 10 mg twice a day, 12hr release.

is this the right dose to cover me coming of the 75 m/hr patches?

im really worried about the change over, as i've been on the patches for 3 years,

will i get the same pain relief from the new med?

That sure doesn't sound like it's an equal or straight across change! I went from 50mg Fentynal patches to 40mg of Oxy 2x per day PLUS break thru meds. You might want to ask your doc again about that. Not only do you not want to deal with any more pain, but adding withdrawl symptoms on top of that would suck. Good luck!
