Last night some thing attached itself to my computer. Spyware Guard 2008 won't leave me alone. It is interrupting everything trying to run and clean my computer trying to trick me into buying it or giving it my email address. I have no antivirus thing on here.
I know I am computer stupid, you don't have to tell me. Just give me simple instructions.
I don't usually do much but come here, check my email, etc. I ran adaware it didn't do anything. Spybot won't work and when I try to go to sites to load AVG or something it says it can't locate the page.
This thing has popped up at least 6 times while i try to type this. Help! Thanks

I get a mssg IE can not open the page everywhere I go to try to see how to fix it. it's like it knows I'm trying to get rid of it. I googled removal and got a list of junk.
Addiesue, try going to Pccillin.com and run a scan there, you should be able to tell i f you may have a virus or something else going on. you should be able to do a scan there, Hope this helps!

I had this same malware. Timaru's link is right. First, close IE explorer. Then open your task manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del or Ctrl+Shift+Esc). Go to the processes tab at the top. Scroll down to find the spyware 2008 program...highligt it, then turn it off (stop the process). When finished, open IE again. Then dowload, install and run the Malwarebytes program linked below and aslo noted in Timaru's post. Good luck.

This is frustrating. I did what you said and ended the process. As soon as I click ie it's the first thing that pops up. Anything I click from google takes me somewhere crazy. I either get the error mssg or it takes me to yahoo job search or a porn site. I tried typing it in directly instead of clicking the link and it froze. I will be seeing my brother this weekend I suppose I'll put him to work.

There is only other way I can think of to shut it off. When IE is open go to the tools menu. Select "manage add ons"... then "enable or disable add ons." Disable it through there. See if that helps. I hope so! If it does, then you should be able to get to that site, and get that program. ...Good Luck! If you aren't sure which one to disable, disable them all for now. You can always enable them again later if you want to after malewarebytes deletes the bad ones.

Do you have Firefox or Safari installed? Maybe you can try using one of those browsers to get to the sites you need in order to fix your problem.
