View Full Version : Tendon Lengthening Procedure - Phoenix

I posted this earlier in the "Arizona" forum but it appears that section is relatively inactive. Would like to try it in this section hoping to get a response from board members in the Phoenix area.

I fell off a structure in June of 2007 and wound up with compression fractures of T11 and T12. I had extensive spine surgery in September of 2007 and have been in a wheelchair since.

Following surgery, I was in the hospital for just over nine months. Over that period, my hamstring tendons contracted to the point where I cannot fully extend either leg. I'm now scheduled for Botox injections and tendon lengthen the end of this month.

As I get closer to surgery, I'm starting to question my decisions. I know nothing of the doctor that is scheduled to do the procedure and even less about the Botox injections.

Can any member from the Phoenix community give me the name of a specialist in this type of thing. I think I want a second opinion.

Thank you.

I would recommend you seek assistance at either Barrow's Neurologic Institute or at Good Sam.

Moving this to the Doctor's and Clinics forum.

Sorry about that. Am new to the board and wasn't sure where to post. Thanks for the advice SCI-Nurse. I spent considerable time at each of these hospitals.
