I was just about to post this under the Funding... forum. I think we, as a community, should put together a proposal for stem cell research.

I agree. I've been thinking about this a lot, lately. We have a scientist, Dr. Wise Young, who can compose a clinical trial proposal complete with stages and treatments. Once we agree on the details of the clinical trial we can begin fundraising to make it happen. Let's make the cure happen.

I'm tired of donating to charities and waiting for politicians to unite. Why can't we fund our own clinical trials?

Well the Google contest just requires a proposal written in plain English, something regular people can read, understand, and vote on. The winning idea will receive $10 million from Google to implement.

That's probably the toughest point... it would be difficult to get any one stem cell idea to the point where it can actually be applied for "just" $10 million.
