marmalady, thanks for the advice...are there other symptoms that indicate a syrinx? what is a syrinx and what causes it? and...when you say "below the level of injury"...do you mean the actual injury site?

No problem - I was glad to help. The search function is easy - just click on the 'find' tab at the top of the page (the one with the little magnifying glass!), enter your word - I used 'syrinx', and click; it'll bring up all the topics and replies that have the word in them. Then you can settle back with a cold one, and dig in reading them!
