In need of "Special" Neurologist

My dear friend, Nick Walser, was taken to Methodist Hospital in Sacramento Sunday evening with vomiting and abdominal pain. 3 surgeries later, the family has been told he now suffers from damage to the brain stem and have offered no hope. He has suffered septic shock, but the infection was said to be cleared. The vitals are stable, but there is no activity. I am no doctor and though the hospital staff has been very acommidating to the family, they seem to have limited resources. If there is anyone who feels they may have some expertise in this area, please call. Again, he is in the ICU unit at Methodist Hospital in Sacramento, CA. The number is 916-423-3000

So sorry about your friend. I would recommend they seek out an evaluation from an outside neurologist before they do anything drastic. UC Davis Medical Center would be the place I would be looking for a good neurologist. I can't recommend any specific name, but a call to the neurology service office there and a request to speak to either the senior attending neurologist or fellow would be the place to start.
