What does everyone think is the best place for out-patient rehab in Orange County California? My in patient rehab was at St. Jude's and it actually sucked. I'm looking for somewhere better for my out-patient portion.

Other than St. Jude's, UC Irvine has the only other SCI program I can recommend. They are in the middle of setting up some new programs with a new medical director for the SCI program, so it may not be what you need immediately, but you should at least contact them. If you wanted to drive all the way to Pomona, Casa Colina would also be a possibility.

You could consider one of the intensive exercise programs in northern San Diego county such as Awakenings or Project Walk if that is what you are looking for...and have the money to private pay.

Taylor, I did my in-patient and out-patient at St Jude. The out-patient rehab was excellent. I spent about 14 months there in 2006 and 2007 and made some significant gains. The staff is very good and I highly recommend them. When I was in therapy the facility was in the basement of the hospital. They recently moved offsite to a huge facility and made many equipment upgrades. If you have not seen the facility I would recommend a visit.
