Hey anyone ever heard of a toshiba that just shut down like someone yanked the plug on it and then will not do anything....it just has a faint click click click when you plug the cord back into it.....I checked the power supply that has the volts that is required....and if it dead and will not work how can I get my pictures off of it....

First thing to try with a broken notebook is to disconnect the power supply and remove the battery for ten seconds, reconnect power, and try again.
If it still fails the same way, it's probably the complete failure of a major system component, probably the hard drive (hence the clicking sound). Try removing any modular components (the battery, the optical drive, etc) and see if it will boot up without them.
Still no luck, try removing the hard drive and see if anything will come up on the screen when you try to start it. If it says "boot device not found" or the like, it's pretty sure to be the hard drive. You'll have to get a new one and rebuild the system. As for getting your pictures back, you might try the "freezer trick", but you'll probably have to send the drive to a data recovery company like Ontrack (http://www.ontrackdatarecovery.com/).
Good luck,
Z

clicking computers usually means hard drive is f'd
did you drop or bump the notebook?

If it's any consolation my satellite did the same thing. Somehow the fan broke down and there was a massive overheating which precipitated into a broken motherboard. I brought my laptop to one of the local computer geek shops and they ended up being able to retrieve the majority of my data. However, the laptop turned out to be bunk -- I hope you end up with a better situation. Best of luck --
