The NCDDDR is part of NIDRR (National Institute for Disability Research and Rehabilitation). Housed in the Department of Education, this center provides a great deal of useful information about disability and disability research in general. While you will not find a lot of information about cure or regeneration research, etc., you will find a ton of stuff here about technology, access, and function research for people with all sorts of disabilities, independent living, community integration, etc.
