Firefox lets you add quick keyword searches ("smart keywords"), where you can type the keyword and then the search query into the address bar to immediately get results.

My smart keywords include:
di - dictionary.com
pm - PubMed
gi - Google Images
gn - Google News What do you use?

I use many of these smart keywords. By the way, have you tried Firefox 3. I love it. It is fast and really good on CareCure.

Firefox 3 even seems to be a little bit better with Dragon NaturallySpeaking.

wise. Which sites have you added smart keywords for?

Aside from one javascript issue and a change in how Firefox 3 handles accesskey attributes, I'm enjoying the upgrade. I've only had to modify two extensions (PlainOldFavorites (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/668) and Snap Links (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4336)) to get them to work in FF 3.

I upgraded to Firefox 3 on my rarely used XP partition, and after it downloaded updates to my add-ons. the updates wouldn't install. What do I do now?

I'm using firefox search tool for searching inside sites directly.
Search Engine Plugins (http://mycroft.mozdev.org/)
I also recommend using:
- icon shortcuts to web pages
- your social bookmarking firefox addon

If your involved in any research stuff, maybe zotero (http://www.zotero.org/) addon is a good approach.

I'm keep looking for a good notes system for what I read....any idea?

I'm keep looking for a good notes system for what I read....any idea? Evernote (http://www.evernote.com/) works well for me. I'm still waiting for them to release an update to their Firefox extension. (Updating the <em:maxVersion /> value in install.rdf to 3.0.* will probably fix it, but I haven't bothered changing it yet.)

many thx Steven

Now I'm still using Notezilla (http://www.conceptworld.com/NoteZilla), but I'll definitely try Evernote. I really like the idea of storing stuff online and share it.

I was always impressed about Wise style documented replays. I'll love to be able to do that myself. Read and store is one thing, find it and use it at the right moment, is something else.

I tried EVERNOTE and I tried "SoHo NOTES". Finally settled on "YoJimbo" ... William

I have a couple commands in DNS 9.5 in Advanced Scripting. I say like Imdb search and it puts in an __ i __ and then one space so I can say what to search for. Remember to hit a space in the command. I think if you have KnowBrainer (KB) it might be built in or easier?

It would be nice when someone gets DNS 10 and starts to use it awhile in Firefox to compare it to DNS 9 and hopefully others will chime in.
