This is it, the ultimate resource of statistics on women and disability. Compiled by the National Institute of Disability Research and Rehabilition, it has 107 pages packed with statistics and answers to questions like how many women are disabled and at what levels, whether women with disabilities have more jobs than men, do women have greater activity limitations than men, etc.
You will find out that in nearly 19.95 million American females have activity limiting disabilities, compared to only 17.78 million males. It has little factoids like: women are twice as likely to be disabled due to arthritis than men but men and boys are twice as likely to be disabled by mental retardation. You will find that spine and back conditions are the most common cause of disability in women (15.3%) and in men (15.9%). Diabetes is way down on the list with 3.3% of the disabled women and 2.8% of disabled men.
