lease forward this message on to all your friends and relatives.

Hello to All,
As you know, I'm writing to you about Ohio House Bill 40 - the Spinal Cord/Head Injury Cure Research
Fund. The next hearing has been moved back to September. This allows us more time to convince
legislators that this bill is necessary and demanded by the SCI community.
I have been told that there are 2 people making the decision on this bill: the Chairman of the
Transportation and Public Safety Committe and the Speaker of the House. Evidentally, the members are
just puppets in the hands of the Chairman. Please focus your attention to these 2 individuals over the
next 2 months. They need repeated reminders that our bill will not be forgotten.
To save you time, I have listed in order the information below:
1. Contact information for the Chairman and Speaker of the House
2. Online petition
3. Brief SCI Facts & Figures

This bill adds $1 to all traffic violations with money going to research for a cure. Ohio issues 1.7 million
traffic tickets each year. Over 50% of SCI cases are due to traffic accidents.

SCI Facts and Figures
Every 37 seconds someone suffers a spinal cord injury. About 11,000 Americans are injured each year,
primarily in road accidents, maintaining a population of some 250,000 who live out their lives confined in
wheelchairs. The Rehabilitation Services Commission of Ohio reported approximately 9,000 Ohioans
