This is a non-profit and impartial evaluation of the option of storing umbilical cord blood. The umbilical cord blood contains fetal stem cells that may be useful for treating the child and also would be closer genetic match as donor stem cells for siblings, parents, and children.

This site came to my attention recently when a friend who had a grandchild was thinking of trying to get the umbilical cord blood banked and was unable to find a place that did it.

Another quality cord blood registry I've come across is https://www.stemcyte.com/. They offer many details on how you could preserve a rich source of stem cells that are genetically unique building blocks for blood, organs, tissue, and the immune system, which could be critical for your child later on in life.
