Does anyone use any program they would recommend?
I want to be able to get videos off music dvds I have, into MPEGs, then I can put them on my laptop, or PS3 hard drive.

AnyDVD (http://www.slysoft.com/en/anydvd.html)
This will allow you to do whatever you want with any content from any DVD - well worth the price

DVD Decrypter (http://www.dvddecrypter.org.uk/)
This one is free but no longer supported or under development. It may do the trick for you however there will definitely be some newer DVDs for which this will not work.

daveh0 - brilliant! Thank you so much, these are just what I'm looking for.
AnyDVD has a 21-day free trial, so I think I'll try that first. :thumb:

Doom9.net (http://www.doom9.org/) as guidance, free downloads and many resources to convert DVDs into compressed format AVI's. I personally use Auto Gordian Knot (http://www.autogk.me.uk/), which is free, for perfect DVD quality conversions. it may take a while to get used to but it's well worth it. I have approximately 200 movies stored on hard drives on a computer connected directly to the TV via high definition and controlled remotely from my laptop and they all look perfect.

Ooh, that AnyDVD trial version is great. It downloaded fast, and was simple to work with. I copied a 4 minute (approx) music dvd onto my PC no problem.
I then put the file on a flash disc, and it went on my PS3 just fine.
I squealed when I played it on the PS3. :)
