what would be considered the safest highest dose of neurontin per day?

Do a Google search on it as every site varies a bit. I take 800 mg. 4/day as well as others do here. I've read that 3500 mg. total is not uncommon. Here (In clinical studies, efficacy was demonstrated over a range of doses from 1800 mg/day to 3600 mg/day with comparable effects across the dose range. ) is an article.

If 4 is 800mg than I was taking 1600mg a day at one time. 2 at a time 4 times a day.

I no longer take it though.

I took 1200mg three times a day for years. The doctors told me 3600 mg/day was the highest effective dose for neuropathic pain. I recently stopped taking Neurontin and am now on Lyrica. I take 75 mg, three times a day, and it seems to be helping quite a bit.

3600 mgs a day is max from what all the docs say, but it would be 4x,s a day your body can't absorb large doses at 1 time more would just go to waste.i hope thats a help

I was on 3600 a day and then 45 plus pounds later I got off of it . If you dont mind gaining weight go ahead .

If you dont mind gaining weight go ahead .This seems the not so typical side effect.. atleast this is the 1st time I've read here of someone gaining weight. In my 5+ yrs taking it I still weigh the same as pre-SCI.... I've just relocated some upper mass due South and padding my belly a bit. :zombie:
