View Full Version : getting even harder
Thanks to my scoliosis, pain, and sticking shoulder blades, it gets harder by the day to drive my chair (and every little bump and move causes extra shooting pains in my back and abdomen.) I want my damn spine straightened and my shoulder blade shaved down, so I can at least drive the chair.

Alan, so sorry that you have so much pain. I have pain too, although I think less than yours, and it is not possible to think of much else at times. Sometimes my head just feels to heavy for my neck to support anymore, and I hate that feeling, plus it scares me. Hang in there and I really hope it gets better for you.

I know you're extremely limited in your ability to travel any distance at all, but you do still have the advantage of a top medical facility nearby. IIWY, I'd stay on top of whether there are any visiting neurosurgeons or neurologists who might be worth seeing that some to your area for awhile.
Alan, have you ever read Central Pain by Canavero? I know the price came down at least some from the initial cost. If you can buy or borrow a copy I'd recommend it. There's some used copies showing up now, as well. I think it's still on Amazon.

I'm so sorry to hear about your pain, Alan. I wish there was something I could do to help

I know how you feel. After 30 yrs seems each day has new pain. Try to keep busy & ignore it.

we all feel for you...it stinks but i like to try to ignore something we cant do anything about
It would have been nice if some orthopedist would have taken care of my back years ago - reducing the scoliosis might have also helped the popping scapulas as well as my balance.
